Warden Forums — Community Rules & Guidelines

Welcome to the Warden Forums, the official community discussion area for Valtheryn.
The purpose of these forums is to give Wardens a permanent place to discuss the game, share strategies, ask questions, create guides, recruit for Alliances, offer feedback, and interact with the wider Valtheryn community.

We want the forums to remain welcoming, useful, and enjoyable for both new and experienced Wardens.
By participating in the Warden Forums, you are expected to follow the rules below.

1. Treat Other Wardens With Respect
Disagreement is completely fine.
Personal attacks are not.
Debate strategies, balance, mechanics, suggestions, and opinions without turning the discussion into harassment or abuse toward another player.
Do not post content intended primarily to:
Harass another Warden, threaten another person, repeatedly target or provoke someone, encourage others to harass a player, humiliate another community member, Disrupt a discussion through personal attacks

Criticize the idea, not the person behind it.

2. No Hate Speech or Discriminatory Abuse
Content attacking or degrading people based on protected characteristics is not appropriate for the Warden Forums.
Valtheryn is a community for players from many different backgrounds.

Keep community discussions focused on the game and treat other members accordingly.

3. Keep Threads in the Appropriate Forum
Please post discussions in the section that best matches the subject.
Examples include General Discussion, Questions & Help, Guides & Strategies, Suggestions & Feedback, Alliance Recruitment, Thornhaven, Moonveil, Events & Oathenreach, Off Topic
Using the correct section makes information easier for everyone to find.

Moderators may move threads when necessary.

4. Do Not Spam
Do not flood the forums with:
Repeated identical threads, Repeated replies, Meaningless posts, Excessive advertising, Unrelated links, Deliberate forum clutter
Before creating a new discussion, consider whether an active thread already exists for the same subject.

5. Constructive Criticism Is Welcome
You are absolutely allowed to criticize Valtheryn.
You can disagree with:
Game mechanics, Balance decisions, Features, Interface design, Events, Progression, Updates, Future plans

Constructive criticism helps improve the game.

Whenever possible, explain what you dislike, why you believe it is a problem, and what you think could improve it.

You do not need to agree with the development team or other players to participate here.

6. Use Valtheryn Support for Bugs and Private Issues
The Warden Forums are a public community space.
They are not the correct place for issues involving private account information.
Please use the official Valtheryn Support system for:
Game bugs, Account problems, Purchase or Treasury issues, Login problems, Missing account items, technical issues requiring account investigation, Sensitive security concerns, Suspected exploits that should not be publicly disclosed

This helps protect both your account information and the integrity of the game.

7. Do Not Publicly Explain Exploits or Security Vulnerabilities
If you discover something that could be abused to cheat, duplicate resources, bypass restrictions, manipulate game state, or compromise Valtheryn systems, do not publish detailed instructions on the forums.
Report it privately through Valtheryn Support.
A public exploit tutorial can turn a single problem into a Realm-wide problem before it can be fixed.
Good-faith security reports are welcome. Public instructions for abusing the vulnerability are not.

8. Protect Personal Information
Do not publish another person’s private information.
This includes information such as:
Home addresses, Private phone numbers, Personal email addresses, Login credentials, Authentication information, Private financial information, Other sensitive personally identifying information
Your public Warden identity and public Valtheryn statistics are different from someone’s private real-world information.

9. No Scams, Phishing, or Credential Theft
Do not attempt to deceive other players into providing:
Passwords, Login codes, Authentication information, Payment information, Account recovery information.

Valtheryn staff and moderators should never need your password posted in a forum thread.

Be cautious with external links posted by other users.

10. Do Not Impersonate Staff or Other Wardens. Do not deliberately present yourself as:
Valtheryn staff, A forum moderator, Another Warden, An Alliance representative you are not authorized to represent

Staff and moderator identities may be visually identified by the forums where appropriate.

11. Alliance Rivalries Stay In-Game
Rivalry, diplomacy, competition, and warfare are part of Valtheryn.
Personal harassment does not need to become part of them.

You can discuss:
Battles, Alliances, Oathenreach, Rivalries, Realm politics, Strategy, War outcomes
Keep the competition focused on Valtheryn rather than turning it into real-world personal abuse.

12. Use @Mentions Responsibly
The forums allow Wardens to @mention other players.
Use mentions when another Warden is genuinely relevant to the conversation.
Do not repeatedly mention someone simply to annoy them or flood their forum notifications.

13. Quotes Must Not Be Used Misleadingly
The forum’s Quote system exists to provide context during discussions.
Do not deliberately misrepresent another player’s position by altering their words and presenting the altered version as an authentic quote.
Respond to what they actually said.

14. Reactions Are Not a Weapon
Likes and dislikes are there to provide lightweight community feedback.
Do not organize harassment campaigns or encourage groups of players to target another Warden’s forum activity simply because of an Alliance rivalry or personal disagreement.

15. No Malicious or Dangerous Content
Do not use Warden Forums to distribute:
Malware, Credential stealing, Malicious downloads, Dangerous scripts, Phishing links, Content intended to compromise another player’s device or account
Such behavior may result in immediate moderation action.

16. Keep Public Content Appropriate
Avoid posting material that clearly does not belong in the Valtheryn community environment, including explicit sexual content, excessively graphic material, or other content inappropriate for a general gaming community.

17. Forum Moderation Is Separate From Game Moderation
The Warden Forums have their own moderation system.

Forum moderators may:
Move threads, Pin or unpin discussions, Lock threads, hide inappropriate posts, restore content, remove content, Review player reports, temporarily suspend forum participation, permanently suspend forum participation when warranted

A forum restriction does not automatically mean the player’s Valtheryn game account is banned.
Likewise, forum moderation is separate from Sentinel Anti Cheat and normal gameplay enforcement.

18. Report Problems — Don’t Start Moderation Wars
If you believe a post violates these rules, use the forum’s Report feature.
Do not turn the thread into an argument about whether another player should be banned.
Reports enter the moderation process for staff review.
A report is a request for review, not proof that a rule violation occurred.

19. Moderator Decisions Should Be Respected
If moderators close, move, or moderate a discussion, do not repeatedly recreate the same thread simply to bypass that decision.
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact the appropriate Valtheryn staff channel rather than disrupting unrelated forum discussions.

20. Help Build the Community You Want to Have
The Warden Forums are intended to become a long-term part of Valtheryn.
Good communities are built by the people participating in them.
Ask questions.
Help new Wardens.
Write guides.
Share strategies.
Recruit Alliance members.
Discuss updates.
Offer suggestions.
Debate respectfully.

And remember that the player on the other side of the screen is another person who chose to spend some of their time in the same Realm you did.
Final Rule, Use common sense.
Not every possible situation can be covered by one written rule book.

If something is clearly being done to harass players, manipulate the forums, compromise accounts, damage the community, or deliberately circumvent moderation, staff may intervene even if the exact behavior is not listed word-for-word above.

The goal is straightforward:
Make the Warden Forums a place worth visiting.

Welcome to the community, Wardens.
